Process Improvement Consultant
Franciscan Health System (FHS) and Franciscan Medical Group (FMG)
Tacoma, WA
This position is responsible for providing consulting services to Franciscan Health
System (FHS) and Franciscan Medical Group (FMG) management predicated
on Toyota Production System and Lean principles/methodologies in order to
facilitate strategic/operational changes and process improvement initiatives/
projects designed to achieve significant results in the key areas of administrative/
clinical quality, cost effectiveness, service delivery, process redesign, outcomes
measurement, risk avoidance/control and regulatory compliance. An incumbent
works with a broad constituency at all organizational levels (e.g. physicians,
management, staff) to advocate the adoption and application of quality and
process improvement concepts and principles aimed at improving value to FHS
customers.
Key contacts are generally with FHS/FMG executive management, steering
committees and multiple cross-functional or cross-organizational teams where
diplomacy, sensitivity, conflict resolution and consensus-building skills are
critical. An incumbent utilizes considerable knowledge of the Lean arsenal of
problem-solving processes, tools and methodologies, as well as knowledge of
the organization's mission/quality needs and the healthcare industry in general,
to consult effectively on large-scale strategic initiatives/projects, to recognize
important synergies and produce tangible breakthroughs in performance.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree discipline related to the requirements of the
position; and five years of related quality/process improvement work experience
that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/skills,
including a minimum of two years in providing consulting services utilizing Lean
methodologies in a large organizational setting.
Masters Degree and work experience in hospital operations/management and/or
management consulting is preferred.
